Our Mission

To engage, encourage & equip men in northern New Jersey to be the man God created them to be. Our core is derived 1 Cor 16:13-14 which says:

Our History

Legacy Minded Men (LMM) launched in 2009 with its first conference at Hawthorne Gospel Church. Some 350 men attended this first event. Since then the lives of hundreds of men in New Jersey, New York and Pennsylvania have been touched, many transformed! To put this in perspective at our last conference in November 2013 at Christ Church in Rockaway, NJ, 402 men attended. When our last speaker gave an invitation over 200 men came forward, received Christ, prayer and encouragement. That’s over 50% of the men! Many attended one of the workshops that LMM offered after the conference to get further instruction.

We don’t put stock in events, but rather what happens after the event. That’s where real change and growth take place. The building of authentic relationships is at the core of what in a few short years LMM has provided. We believe God has ordained us to be Transformation Agents and we are excited about the calling!

The Reason LMM Exists

It has been said that less than 3% of New Jerseyans attend a strong bible teaching church on any given Sunday. If that is true and we know men represent roughly 40% of that number than we can say that only 1.2% of men are attending a strong church each week. No wonder why we are in the shape we are in! What would happen if that number began to creep up? What changes would we see in our churches, our families, the places we work and of course our community as a whole? If you need evidence as to why we feel so strongly about what we are doing take a look at this and remember

EVERY day the numbers get worse:

• 85% of all children who show behavior disorders come from fatherless homes – 20 times the average. (Center for Disease Control)

• 80% of rapists with anger problems come from fatherless homes –14 times the average. (Justice & Behavior, vol 14, p. 403-26)

• 71% of all high school dropouts come from fatherless homes – 9 times the average. (National Principals Association Report)

• 85% of all youths in prison come from fatherless homes – 20 times the average. (Fulton Co. Georgia, Texas Dept. of Correction)

So What?

JP was a 23 year old Christian man who made a mistake. In an unguarded moment he got his girlfriend pregnant. When this happened JP had been attending the LMM Leadership training as well as True Vine Christian Center. He and his girlfriend talked about aborting the baby but what JP was learning through his pastor and LMM told him it was the easy way out. He and his girlfriend decided not only would they not abort the baby but that they would get married and be a family. JP is ministered to each week now.

This is the heart of transformational and generational ministry. This is what LMM does every day, one man at a time. So what is one man worth?

Our Vision

The vision of Legacy Minded Men is to move men from being unengaged and apathetic to someone who is fully engaged and a man of action. Through our servant based ministry we come alongside the local church, both small and large, to help build, or assist, with their men’s ministry which, if done properly, will not only impact the church but the man himself. This in turn will affect his family, his workplace and ultimately the community he serves in a powerful way.

We Do This Through

Man Conferences – This powerful event, which takes place in various locations several times per year (4 times in 2014), is designed to assemble men from various backgrounds, denominations and ethnicities. Together they worship, learn and are empowered and encouraged to plug in to the various tools LMM offers. We do not believe men are transformed at events, they are transformed when they decide to walk with Christ in an authentic manner. Once a man makes that choice to grow he can plug into any and all of the following:

Legacy Groups – Provides the tools for churches to start their own men’s ministry
U2one Discipleship Training – A 16 week seminary level program to learn how to disciple
Mentoring 2 Maturity– A powerful resource tool for men to find the answers
