LEGACY GROUPS
PROGRAMS:
Now Your Church or Organization Can Start a Legacy Group!
Want to launch or re-energize a men's group at your church or organization? Tired of the same old monthly men's meeting with eggs and a speaker but no transformation? Most churches do but truth be told, building a strong men's ministry takes a lot of work and finding the time to manage them is hard for most men. Legacy Minded Men has made this task easy! If you start a Legacy Group at your church or organization LMM will provide the structure, facilitating materials, talking points or a speaker. Here is the best part. There is no cost to your church however if you are blessed by the ministry we would ask that you partner up with us so that programs like this can move forward.
So what is a Legacy Group?
Legacy Groups provide an engaging, encouraging and transparent environment for men to be properly equipped to carry out their God given purpose. This includes the sharing of triumphs and tragedies, temptations and concerns. It brings men together to not only learn about others, but also about themselves. It provides a unique environment for men to work on outreach projects side by side. It is unlike anything most men have ever experienced!
The formula for a Legacy Group is R3:
-
Real - Men are encouraged to take off their mask and be authentic
-
Relationships - When they are authentic it will spark strong new relationships
-
Released - When relationships are built men move in teams to serve their communities and churches
How does a Legacy Group Work?
1. If your church or organization is interested in learning more about starting a Legacy Group (LG) there are three ways to start the ball rolling:
-
The church leaders can visit an existing Legacy Group to experience it first hand
-
A Legacy Minded Men leader can come to your church and address your men, and run the meeting as if it was a Legacy Group
-
If you are out of the area we will provide you with video training and ongoing support.
2. Once you decide you want to move forward we suggest you identify 3 men who will assume the leadership roles. Why 3? Sometimes men have obligations so we know a strand of 3 is difficult to break! Meaning three ensures there will also be at least one man to lead. Leaders need to control a meeting. This includes affording each man the ability to participate and for some men to be contained. They need to always keep the discussion flowing and on course.
3. Each week the leader will receive the Legacy Minute via email which will feature a 1-3 minute teaching video as well as a downloadable handout for the group. This is designed to provide the LG leader with talking points and questions. It will also highlight a local ministry opportunity for the men to get involved. Men learning together and serving together...that is a formula for transformation.
4. Each month there will be a conference call for leaders to hear what other groups are doing as well as sharing what they are doing.
5. A great starting point would be to utilize our book, "The 7 Pillars of a Legacy Minded Man" to get your men primed for thought provoking discussions.
