We have always being first and foremost straight shooters. Since we are all local people, we have a strong and direct responsibility to our customers who are OUR community.
As jewelers, we always strive to do great work. But because we are in a downtown location, we have never paid the overhead that stores in big plazas or malls pay. Because of this, our prices have always been exceptionally fair.
One of the things that made us unique amongst the blizzard of places one can buy jewelry today, is that our company’s foundation was laid on four generations of actually running a jewelry manufacturing factory which was founded by Buddy’s Great-Grandfather nearly 100 years ago.
Boston Louis Jewelers was started in the mid 1980’s by myself: Ken Boston and Louis Mazzo (known by everyone as “Buddy”), who I met in the Boy Scouts in Lincoln Park when we were just kids. When we were both in college, I had been employed in the NYC Diamond District and Buddy had been working with his grandfather in their family's jewelry factory.
Discovering that we had common business interests, we turned our love and knowledge of jewelry (and a hundred dollars each) into a company that is now almost 30 years old, and still going strong. Our staff is made up of other local people who are also professionals in the jewelry field.
Basically stated, we are specialists in jewelry design and manufacturing, master jewelers, and gemologist/appraisers.
